Why Choose Us
Some law firms take in huge numbers of cases, then settle them for less money than they should. Not us. We take a small number of cases, then deliver maximum value for each of our clients. We turn away more cases than we accept as that ensures every client we have the honor of representing gets our closest attention. If you call us and we’re unable to take your case, we can almost always connect you with another law firm that can help.
Other lawyers consistently recognize the attorneys at Butler Kahn for their skill. Our awards and honors prove it—we have earned recognition from Super Lawyers (an honor that is awarded to only 5% of all attorneys in the state), National Trial Lawyers, Avvo, Legal Elite, Top 40 Under 40 On the Rise, and the University of Georgia. Our attorneys have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Business, ABC News, WSB-TV, NBC News, 11Alive, CBS News, the Daily Report, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, and News Radio 106.7. And in 2015, Butler Kahn was selected and honored in New York City by the National Law Journal as one of the top 50 law firms in the nation.
Some law firms think their clients should simply take a number and get in line. Not us. We treat our clients with the respect they deserve—which is why the attorneys at Butler Kahn consistently win Avvo’s prestigious “Client’s Choice Award”.
When we take a case, we expect to win it. We put our money where our mouth is: if we don’t win, we don’t get paid. We handle each case on a contingency fee basis, which means that our clients don’t pay us upfront or by the hour. There is no out-of-pocket expense and no billable hour. Our clients are free to pick up the phone and call us anytime they want without worrying if they are going to get charged. Our entire fee is based on winning the case.
Other law firms – within Georgia and around the country – call on Butler Kahn for assistance in serious or complex cases. We value these relationships and offer generous co-counsel fee arrangements.
We prepare every case for the courtroom. Although we do everything we can to resolve our clients’ cases rapidly on favorable terms, we know that the surest way to help our clients is by preparing for trial. So at Butler Kahn, we’re not only willing to fight to the end, we’re prepared. Our attorneys thoroughly investigate a case by tracking down witnesses, interviewing medical providers, deposing government officials including police officers, and hiring experts like a crash reconstructionist or life care planner.
Traumatic brain injuries; spinal cord injuries, including herniated discs, quadriplegia, and paraplegia; burns, including third degree partial thickness and fourth degree full thickness; limb dislocations, including tears of the rotator cuff and/or meniscus; and other catastrophic injuries require a deeper understanding of medicine that not all lawyers possess. We bring in medical consultants on most of our cases. Knowing the law and understanding the medicine is what gets us results.
