30 Children Hospitalized in Evans County School Bus Crash on SR 73

Pickup Truck Involved in Head-On Collision With Evans County School Bus That Left 30 Children Injured

EVANS COUNTY, GEORGIA (September 18, 2025) – At least 30 children were injured in an Evans County school bus accident along State Route 73.

Evans County officials are saying that the collision took place around 3:51 PM on Thursday. A school bus was traveling north in the left lane of State Route 73.

For undetermined reasons, the school bus moved into the southbound lanes of traffic. There is a report that the bus driver may have been attending to a student who left their seat and moved into the doorway when the accident occurred.

The school bus proceeded to collide head-on with a Nissan Titan pickup truck. Paramedics were called to the scene of the accident to help all of the victims.

The driver of the Nissan Titan pickup truck was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Another 30 children were also hospitalized in the crash.

A full investigation into the Evans County school bus accident remains ongoing.
