Congratulations to Our 2025 Scholarship Winners!

Our law firm was thrilled with the talent, creativity, and dedication we saw from our 2025 scholarship award applicants. We received thoughtful entries from high school, college, and graduate students nationwide.

The attorneys of Butler Kahn asked students to provide a video responding to the following question:

“How do YOU want to make the world better?”

We appreciate every submission we received. While we would love to award a scholarship to every applicant, we had to choose only two winners. The funds they receive will go towards the costs of pursuing higher education.

We thank every student who submitted a video and wish everyone the best as they move forward.

1st Place: Sierra Romero

Sierra is a Gates and Daniels Fund Scholar pursuing a Master’s in Social and Public Policy. She leads community-focused programs at Johns Hopkins and has worked with nonprofits on communications, advocacy, and equity. She aims to create lasting impact through public service and inclusive policy.

Runner up: Abigail So

Abigail is a summa cum laude graduate in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and a fluent Spanish speaker. She has worked in data analytics and marketing at JPMorgan Chase, Erie Insurance, and Opera Philadelphia. Passionate about service, Abigail has volunteered as a Spanish translator and health advocate, aiming to make healthcare and legal support more accessible to underserved communities.

Jeb Butler

Jeb Butler’s career as a Georgia trial lawyer has led to a $150 million verdict in a product liability case against Chrysler for a dangerous vehicle design that caused the death of a child, a $45 million settlement for a young man who permanently lost the ability to walk and talk, and numerous other verdicts and settlements, many of which are confidential at the defendant’s insistence. Jeb has worked on several cases that led to systemic changes and improvements in public safety. He has been repeatedly recognized as a Georgia SuperLawyer and ranks among Georgia’s legal elite. Jeb graduated in the top 10% of his class at UGA Law, argued on the National Moot Court team, and published in the Law Review.
